The Recording Academy said the full list of 2019 winners, which is circulating on social media is fake.

LOS ANGELES - The Recording Academy has come out to say that the tweet, naming some of the Grammy winners for 2019, is not real.

A video circulating on Twitter shows an alleged winners' list from the Recording Academy's website.

In a statement sent to Billboard on Monday, an official from the Recording Industry confirmed that Grammy Award winners are not known until the night of the ceremony.

"Grammy Awards results are not shared, even with Recording Academy staff members, until the day of the Grammy Awards ceremony, when names of the recipients are delivered by [accounting firm] Deloitte in sealed envelopes."

Winners will officially be announced at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 10.

The alleged hack angered thousands of fans who could not understand why a list of winners would be announced a few weeks before the official ceremony.
