Every year, Google looks back on the most searched topics of the year. This year South Africans showed a keen interest in celebrities, current affairs and even how to get pregnant. We're joined now by head of communications for Google SA, Mich Atagana, to discuss the year's trends. Courtesy #DStv403






JOHANNESBURG – The most searched items, people and questions on Google in South Africa this year have been revealed.


This year's trending searches show South Africans keen interest in local celebrities, news and events, with six of the top 10 trending search terms being local.

The top personalities list also reflects this -- three of the top 10 are politicians, two are sports stars, and the other five related to current affairs and news events.


The world-famous sporting event featured high on the list.
