JOHANNESBURG - eNCA is introducing new programmes and new faces as part of an ongoing drive to create an exciting weekend line-up.

From 1 December you can start your Saturday and Sunday mornings in the company of Duduzile Ramela and Nhlanhla Sehume who will host Morning News Today.

From 7am to  9am, the pair will update you on the big news stories of the weekend. Nhlanhla, who will make his eNCA debut, is looking forward to joining Duduzile, who has already established a fresh and informed weekend morning offering.

Says Nhlanhla, “eNCA is a leading voice in South African news and current affairs. To be part of the new look programming is a great personal milestone. I am really excited about the challenge.”

Nhlanhla has worked for some of the country’s leading media platforms, including anchoring drive time news on Power FM 98.7 and guest presenting on investigative television series Carte Blanche.

Says Duduzile, “We are going to have a lot of fun on Morning News Today weekends. We have a fantastic team and I would like to invite all of you to start your weekend with us.”

Then from 1pm to 2pm on weekends, you can look forward to an action-packed hour of news, sport and lifestyle updates with seasoned broadcaster Marcelle Gordon.

Marcelle is a familiar face for our viewers and is delighted to be taking up the helm at eNCA Lunchtime. Marcelle has over 20 years’ experience in journalism and will bring her wealth of knowledge and vivacious energy to our screens.

“Lunchtime Live will keep you in the news loop on the weekends," Marcelle says. "It promises to be fast-paced, with lots of live news reportage. If it’s happening, we’re on it!”

And then from 5pm, Gareth Edwards and Faith Mangope will take you through the evening news with NewsNight.

Gareth has been working mostly behind the scenes for the channel in more recent years, but his fans will be delighted to know he is now taking up a regular anchoring gig on weekends.

Says Gareth: "eNCA has been my home for more than a decade. There was no doubt in my mind when I was asked to join our on-air division in a more permanent capacity again, that this was where I wanted to be.”

Equally well-known, Faith Mangope, a successful businesswoman who anchored Sunrise on e.tv for a number of years, will be side by side with Gareth.

“I am so excited to be joining the eNCA family for News Night weekends,” says Faith.

“Broadcasting and telling South Africa’s stories, in particular, is a passion of mine. To do it alongside a talented and highly acclaimed team makes it that much more special. There’s nothing quite like eNCA.”

The two promise to provide up to the minute news and a dash of fun as well.

"I am very excited to be working with Faith Mangope, who needs no introduction to the South African television audience," adds Gareth. "Watch out – she shares my wicked sense of humour!”

NewsNight runs from 5pm to 8pm on Saturday and from 5pm to 7pm on Sundays.

Investigate news programme Checkpoint will air at 7pm on Sundays and then at 7.30pm, we end the week on a laugh with Almost News with Chester Missing.
