Donna Shalala Could Be Coming to Congress
almost 7 years in Roll Call
Former Clinton Cabinet secretary Donna Shalala has won the Democratic nomination in Florida’s open 27th District, one of the party’s best pickup opportunities this cycle.
With 100 percent of precincts reporting, the former Health and Human Services secretary led with 32 percent of the vote, according to The Associated Press. State Rep. David Richardson, who had tried to claim the mantle as the most progressive candidate in the race, was finished second with 28 percent in the five-way primary.
