THE Balor Theatre in Ballybofey hosts five events this week – three as part of the Frances Browne Literary Festival as well as a concert by highly regarded trad group 3 on The Bund and a visit by Ulster comedian Mark McCarney.Wednesday, October 8 sees a performance by 3 On The Bund – a five-piece group that blend tradition and innovation. They deliver both traditional and newly composed material with energy, passion and authenticity. On Thursday, the first of three events takes place at the Balor as part of the Frances Browne Literary Festival. Literary Links features talks by Donnan Harvey (Cathedral Quarter Literary Festival, Letterkenny) and Douglas Bartlett (Steinbeck Festival, Limavady) in which they explore Ulster’s surprising literary connections to world-renowned authors Jane Austen, Brendan Behan and John Steinbeck.
