Another significant linkup in the Caribbean has taken off with the start of direct flights between Guyana and Grenada.
The inaugural flight took to the air on Sunday, connecting Maurice Bishop International Airport in Grenada with Cheddi Jagan International Airport in Georgetown, Guyana. This new route will operate two times a week.
The airline’s expansion into this market is expected to stimulate tourism and trade between the two nations.
Previously, travel between Grenada and Guyana often required multiple connections, increasing travel time and expenses. The new non-stop flights reduce travel time to under two hours, offering a more convenient and cost-effective option for passengers.
