Amy Smart defended husband Carter Oosterhouse in a passionate plea to the media after the HGTV star was accused of sexual misconduct.

The "Just Friends" actress, 41, shared a lengthy message on Instagram Saturday, alongside a photo of the couple with their 11-month-old daughter Flora.

Smart kicked off her note by praising the women who have come forward with stories of sexual harassment and assault, but said the accusations being tossed at Oosterhouse, whom she wed in 2011, have crossed boundaries. She also reiterated his claim that his relationship with former makeup artist Kailey Kaminsky was entirely consensual.

Kaminsky told The Hollywood Reporter Thursday that Oosterhouse, 41, coerced her into oral sex on multiple occasions while she worked for him on the HGTV show "Carter Can" in 2008.

"When you are in a consensual relationship, then you need to take responsibility for engaging in that and not play victim," Smart wrote.

"If a relationship does not work out the way you want it to, then sorry, but that is the risk you take when getting intimate with another person. There are plenty of relationships I wish I could go back and make different choices about, but it was on me to decide."

She added that Kaminsky's account was "damaging and cruel" to her husband, adding that Oosterhouse is "one of the most kindest, loving, non-aggressive men I have the privilege of knowing."

"I am so sorry for these salacious words being thrown around, they are extremely hurtful. This type of reporting needs to stop, it's so damaging for personal lives and careers and just not fair," she wrote.

Smart also threw in a plea to the media, asking for more diligence in penning stories and headlines about sexual assault.

Oosterhouse — who has appeared on TLC's "Trading Spaces" and HGTV's "Carter Can," "Red Hot & Green" and "Million Dollar Rooms" — told The Hollywood Reporter that he believed his relationship with Kaminsky was consensual.

"I didn't apologize because I never did anything wrong. That's the God's honest truth. I felt bad that she was, in that moment, not super-positive," he said. "In no way did I ever feel, nor was it ever indicated to me, that Kailey was uncomfortable during our intimate relationship. I would have never done anything that I was not sure was mutually agreeable."

Kaminsky, meanwhile, alleged that the 10 to 15 times she succumbed to his demands for oral sex caused her anxiety to swell so badly that she was hospitalized for depression and eventually lost her job.
