The Australian Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says pop star Taylor Swift has been an “extraordinary popular culture phenomenon".
Mr Sheridan said the singer makes joy, niceness and wholesomeness “part of her appeal”.
“It’s an extraordinarily popular success,” he told Sky News Australia.
“It’s something young people don’t feel ashamed to have their mum and dad at the concert with them.
“She doesn’t have a chip on her shoulder … for popular culture to abandon just for a moment it’s reflex hostility to the society, and instead to be celebrating the individual within.
“I think she’s a terrific force for good.”
