The Liberal Party’s candidate for the Dunkley by-election has committed to holding the state and federal government to account over the youth crime crisis.
Nathan Conroy will be looking to secure the seat of Dunkley in the by-election on Saturday as he looks to challenge Labor candidate Jodie Belyea for the seat.
The by-election will be the government’s first major ballot box litmus test and the stakes are high for both leaders.
Mr Conroy called for more money to be spent on proactive initiatives to ensure disengaged youth is not targeted on the streets.
“They want to increase the age of criminality from ten to 14 and all that is going to do is set a green light for these organised gangs to prey on our most vulnerable people in our community and that is our young,” Mr Conroy said.
