Oppenheimer has continued its award season success dominating the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles.

The blockbuster hit has cemented its status as a frontrunner at the Oscars in March.

The film won Best Cast in a Motion Picture and its lead actor Cillian Murphy picked up the Best Actor award.

“Twenty-eight years ago when I was trying to become an actor, I was a failed musician and I felt extremely like an interloper but now looking out at all of you guys here today I know that I’m part of truly wonderful – so thank you so much,” Mr Murphy said while accepting his award.

Actor Robert Downey Jr won ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for his role as Lewis Strauss in the film.
