Trump will ‘drag out’ speculation about his potential vice president ‘as long as he can’

Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney says Donald Trump is such a “force” that he can take anyone as vice president and it won’t change his outcomes politically.

Trump was asked this week about his shortlist for potential vice presidents and confirmed it includes Ron DeSantis, Byron Donalds, Tulsi Gabbard, Kristi Noem, Vivek Ramaswamy and Tim Scott.

“He's going to milk this as long as he possibly can, he’s a master of what we call ‘earned media’ which is getting on television for free without having to pay advertising rates and so forth,” Mr Mulvaney told Sky News host James Morrow.

“He will drag this out as long as he possibly can.

“A lot of names will be thrown up and Trump loves it when new names get added to the list because it’s free advertising for him.”
