Three people were hospitalized Wednesday when a charter bus driver sparked a three-vehicle accident involving an NYPD squad car outside the Richard Rodgers Theater — home of the Tony-winning smash musical “Hamilton.”

The double-decker bus struck a delivery truck outside the W. 46th St. theater near Eighth Ave. about 8:50 a.m., officials said.

The delivery truck, in turn, rear-ended a police cruiser parked in front of it, witnesses said.

“The guy driving the bus was coming up pretty fast pushing over a bunch of barricades," said Jimmy Rodriguez, 52, who saw what happened from the parking lot where he works as an attendant. "He hit the truck as it was pulling in by the hydrant and the truck pushed forward into the pole and police car. There were sparks flying everywhere. There must a been five or six barricades he went through."

The truck, Rodriguez said, minimized the damage.

"(The bus) was coming up on the sidewalk," he said, recalling people screaming to get out of the way. "It coulda been a lot worse if the truck had not been there."

The front windshield of the Top View Sightseeing bus broke off on impact, witness Erik Wilkens tweeted.

The bus driver’s legs were pinned upon impact and the vehicle’s front doors were smashed shut, Rodriguez said. There were two sightseers on the top deck — a woman and a little girl — who were not hurt, he said.

The FDNY said one patient was taken to an area hospital with a serious injury. Two other victims had minor injuries.

The incident happened several hours before the afternoon matinee of “Hamilton,” a show typically attended by large school groups.

A source close to the show said about 1,300 students from 22 schools are expected to attend today’s “Hamilton” matinee.
