Queensland Police Union boss slams unmanned speed cameras

7 months in news

The Queensland Police Union boss has slammed the Queensland Government's rollout of unmanned speed cameras across the state's regional and rural areas.

Ian Leavers says the cameras are revenue raisers and not for road safety.

There are 10 transportable speed cameras outside Brisbane.

Many drivers claim they've received multiple infringement notices at the same time.

Transport Minister Mark Bailey says the unmanned cameras allow police to be available to serve their communities.
