Sky News host James Morrow says New York Mayor Eric Adams who declared New York as a sanctuary city is having “some regrets” as he realises the burden of US President Joe Biden’s open border policies have placed on his city.
According to the US Customs and Border Protection, almost 2.5 million people illegally crossed the southern border in the last 12 months.
“In the past few months, he has warned the migrant crisis would ‘destroy New York City’,” Mr Morrow said.
"He has been forced to slash budgets for schools, police, libraries and trash pickup.
“He’s also been a very vocal critic of the Biden Administration.”
