Former Qantas CEO Alan Joyce is in line to receive another bonus package worth millions.

Mr Joyce could collect an extra $6 million bonus which takes his total payout tally past $28 million.

Staff at the airline are said to be furious at the prospect of the former boss receiving what is understood to be a long-term incentive bonus.

It follows a turbulent few months for the national carrier after being found guilty for illegally sacking 1,700 employees at the height of the pandemic as well as selling tickets for so called 'ghost flights'.

Mr Joyce’s total haul from a 15-year career in the top job is now over $150 million.
