Former US vice president Mike Pence has dropped out of the 2024 presidential race.

The Indiana Republican who served as vice president during Donald Trump’s presidency struggled to gain support during the primary campaign.

Mr Pence announced the end of his campaign during the annual Republican Jewish Coalition convention.

“I came here to say it’s become clear to me this is not my time,” he said.

“So, after much prayer and deliberation, I have decided to suspend my campaign for president, effective today.”
