Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, while in the US, will lobby Congress to pass the President’s bill which promises billions of dollars for the AUKUS submarine program and pledges military aid for Israel and Ukraine.

Domestic issues in the US are raising concerns as to whether the sale will still occur.

“AUKUS is a long-term commitment between our three nations,” Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister Patrick Gorman told Sky News Australia.

“AUKUS isn’t just about one-year, one-announcement. It’s a multi-decade commitment to the security of our nations."

NSW Liberal Party President Jason Falinski said, “we don’t need a plan B, we just need to get on with plan A".

Mr Falinski also maintained that he has “very strong confidence” that the sale will still go ahead.
