Next cash rate rise ‘likely to be the last’

9 months in news

The next cash rate rise is likely to be the last, according to Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.

His remarks come after the Reserve Bank held the interest rate steady at 4.1 per cent for October.

Mr Greenwood said Australians should expect to see steady rates from December onwards.

He said another rate rise would be like trying to put “one final nail” into inflation to “kill it off stone dead”.

“But that also remember, slows the economy – probably sees more people out of work in Australia,” he told Sky News host Caleb Bond.
