Labor branch allegedly forging signatures of dead people was an ‘open secret’ for ‘decades’

The Australian’s Victorian Political Reporter Rachel Baxendale says the Labor Party allegedly forging signatures of dead people was an open secret for “decades”.

“The branch stacking in the Labor Party wasn’t just restricted to Adam Somyurek – his faction of the Labor Party of course,” she told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“Adam Somyurek was expelled from the Labor Party by the Premier, two of his close factional associates Marlene Kairouz and Robyn Scott were forced to resign, this was in 2020 when that scandal broke.

“Then a year later Luke Donnellan, their factional associate was forced to resign as a result of evidence that was given by Anthony Byrne of course who was a federal MP who had been their ally but kind of turned snitch and there was some footage that was key in the undoing of those people.”
