Rescue crews are working to reach towns in northern Italy which are still isolated from roads, electricity and phone service after heavy flooding.

Vast areas remain flooded with many roads collapsed due to the rain.

A red alert has been confirmed for Saturday and Sunday as more rain could cause river levels to rise again.
