Finance Minister Katy Gallagher says the budget that’s to be handed down tomorrow night has been carefully put together to ensure the government isn’t adding to the inflation problem in the economy.

“Decisions are being finalised but we’ve got 36 hours to go so you’ll just have to hang in there a bit longer,” Ms Gallagher said during a media conference on Monday.

“The cost of living package really has been targeted – it's a significant package, there’s a number of measures, it goes across age groups.”
