Staff from the London Fire Brigade helped to reunite a mother and daughter in Hatay, Turkey, on February 9, following an earthquake that killed more than 24,000 people across both Turkey and Syria. This video shows members of the UK International Search and Rescue team helping a woman from the rubble and lifting her to safety, where she is met by her young daughter, according to the London Fire Brigade. By Saturday, Turkish disaster management agency AFAD reported a death toll of 19,875 in Turkey, and the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Syria’s death toll had risen to 4,461.
