Australian families' spending on education “has never been higher” despite record-low levels of successful education, according to the Herald Sun's James Campbell.

“Anybody who has got kids in school at the moment and had a really close look at it during lockdown, well, they can’t really gaslight us on the state of the schools after we all sat there watching what was going on in the zooms,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“It’s the BBQ stopper amongst parents – the state of the schools.”
