Orange is the new "Black-ish."

Laverne Cox, 45, agreed to appear on an episode of "Black-ish" while she was being interviewed by the show's star, Anthony Anderson, on the red carpet Sunday. MIKE BLAKE/REUTERS Anthony Anderson.

"Why have you not been on Black-ish yet?" Anderson asked Cox during E! Network's red carpet show after receiving the microphone from Giuliana Rancic.

Cox, who plays Sophia Burset on "Orange is the New Black," made it clear she was interested — but said it wasn't her fault she hadn't been on the popular ABC show before.

"I've not been invited, darling," she said. "I would gladly come."

Anderson then officially offered her a guest-starring gig on a future episode, to which Cox replied, "I'll be there."

In 2014, Cox became the first openly transgender person to receive a nomination for a Primetime Emmy in an acting category for her performance in the hit Netflix series "Orange is the New Black." She won a Daytime Emmy as the executive producer of the documentary "The T Word" in 2015, making her the first openly transgender woman to win an executive producer Emmy.

Cox is up for best guest actress in a drama series this Sunday's show.

"Black-ish" is up for best comedy series, and Anderson is up for best lead actor in a comedy series.
