FBI director admits leaving Senate hearing early to go on vacation

FBI Director Christopher Wray has admitted he requested to leave a Senate hearing in August, which was probing allegations of bias at the bureau, in order to catch a private flight for a family vacation.
In August, Mr Wray faced the House Judiciary Committee to be questioned on allegations FBI officials sought to “disregard” any “derogatory” information about Hunter Biden as disinformation right before the 2020 Presidential election.
The FBI director called the allegations “troubling” but requested to leave in order to catch his flight.
The New York Post later reported he skipped out early to fly on the FBI’s private jet to meet his family at the Adirondack Mountains.
“We had agreed beforehand on the time and length of it,” Mr Wray told Josh Hawley.
“As to how I fly — I am required, not only permitted but required, to fly on an FBI plane wherever I go.”
“So you were going on vacation?” Hawley interjected.
“I was, yes,” Christopher Wray said.
