Strategic Insights Australia Director Michael Shoebridge says the explosion on the Kerch Bridge connecting Russia to Russian-annexed Crimea is a “very big blow in the war”.

“The Ukrainians haven’t taken official responsibility but it certainly looks like the Ukrainian security forces,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“A truck bomb detonated beside a train carrying fuel, massive explosion.

Mr Shoebridge said Russian President Vladimir Putin received a “big red tractor” as a birthday present from Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko but the Ukrainians gave him a “big red fireball instead”.
