Results filtering through from Russia’s referendums in Ukraine

Early results from Russia's so-called referendums in occupied Ukraine have shown the overwhelming majority wish to return to the Russian Federation.
Russia's state news agency, RIA, claims early counts show more than 97 per cent have voted to join Russia.
The West and Ukraine are denouncing the referendums as a sham and will not recognise the results.
The vote paves the way for President Vladimir Putin to officially annex the four areas within days and has promised to provide full protection, which could include nuclear weapons.
