CFMEU slammed for ‘appalling conduct’ at jobs summit

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese should be “held accountable” for the “appalling conduct” of the CFMEU at his Jobs and Skills Summit, Shadow Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews says.

Ms Andrews said the CFMEU “did cross a line in terms of what was appropriate”.

“They were supposed to be talking about jobs, skills and they actually went off on a tangent very, very quickly and started making some pretty outrageous comments,” she told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“I think their conduct was appalling, but the CFMEU’s conduct for many, many years has been appalling and the Labor Party are unable to rein them in.

“Now they’re effectively off the leash.”
