Former Australian Army Major General Mick Ryan says the United States was "well justified” for killing Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.

“It just shows how good some of the intelligence services are at finding people they need to find who are our enemies,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“They have been looking for him for decades – literally.”
