He has a Welsh lilt in his voice, but Jack Hassell’s passion for India, where he was born almost 100 years ago, runs deep. The former British army soldier, who now lives in Christchurch, recounts an interesting life - including his war service against the Japanese and an affinity with Mahatma Gandhi - to reporter Chris Barclay.
