CLEVELAND— The waiting was the hardest part. In the first game, Gerrit Cole pitched six solid innings and Matt Carpenter hit two home runs for a 13-4 win. In the nightcap, Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton went back-to-back and Nestor Cortes gave them six one-run, three-hit innings in a 6-1 win.
