Prince Charles has been called out for behaving in a "very questionable manner" after a report revealed the Prince of Wales personally accepted $1.52 million in cash stuffed in a suitcase from a Qatari politician.

The extraordinary payment was one of three totalling €3 million ($A4.56 million) the Prince of Wales is said to have received from Sheikh Hamad bin Jasseim bin Jaber Al Thani between 2011 and 2015, according to The Sunday Times.

Clarence House has denied anything questionable has taken place and said the money were donations and “passed immediately to one of the prince’s charities”.

Spiked Online’s Brendan O’Neill told Sky News Australia the future king of England was behaving in a “very questionable manner”.

“He’s looking like a bit of a dodgy dealer,” Mr O’Neill said.
