Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese had "a crack" at Greens leader Adam Bandt on Wednesday.

Mr Bandt has drawn criticism for having the Australian flag removed from behind the lectern in one of his recent media conferences.

The Prime Minister said Mr Bandt needs to “reconsider his position” concerning the issue.

“I’m always very proud to stand in front of the Australian flag and I think anyone who is a member of the Australian Parliament should do so as well,” Mr Albanese said at a media conference on Wednesday.

"I just say to Mr Bandt that he needs to think about the responses that have been made and reconsider his position and work to promote unity and work to promote reconciliation.”
