Soca Kings off the mark in T10 Blast

SOCA Kings earned their first win in the second edition of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board Dream XI Trinidad T10 Blast with a 12-run win over Steelpan Strikers at Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, on Tuesday.
Soca Kings scored an impressive 116/4 in ten overs with Kirstan Kallicharan leading the way. He struck 52 off 26 deliveries, a knock which included two fours and five sixes.
The experienced Jason Mohammed chipped in with 22 off 12 balls.
Strikers captain Imran Khan was the best bowler as he grabbed 1/15 in two overs.
Strikers made a valiant effort in their run chase, but closed on 104/4 in ten overs.
Lendl Simmons cracked two fours and four sixes in his innings of 43 off 20 deliveries and Adrian Ali struck 39 off 28 balls.

Fast bowler Shiva Sankar helped Soca Kings complete the win with 2/22 in two overs.
In the second match on Tuesday, Scarlet Ibis Scorchers maintained first place in the six-team tournament with a 21-run win over Blue Devils.
The tournament continues until June 24 with matches at noon and 2.30 pm daily.
