Albanese ‘moving forward’ with France relations

about 2 years in news

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is seeking to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron to “reset” a critical relationship with France.

Mr Albanese said it was important for himself and Mr Macron to develop a “cordial” relationship without obstacles – announcing a settlement with France’s Naval Group after the Coalition reneged on a submarine deal.

“Now we can move forward with our relationship with France, this is important for us,” he said.

“France is a key partner for Australia, we share those historical ties going back to the first world war.”
