People realise they ‘still depend upon having baseload energy’ while using renewables

about 2 years in news

Liberal Senator Amanda Stoker says people are “finally having a moment of reality” about how they still “depend upon having baseload energy” even while using renewables.

“And this ideological war against coal means that we are now at the mercy of gas as being our only substantial input on that baseload side,” she told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

She said we either need to let go of the "ideological obsession against coal" or be willing to invest in "other baseload sources that are necessary to make sure that those renewables that we do have are viable".
