Victorian Liberal MP Tim Smith says the Liberal campaign in Kooyong “lacked a message” and the loss of Josh Frydenberg is a tragedy for the party.

“It is a global trend but we’re seeing inner-urban elites voting for the left all around the world, the 12 wealthiest districts in the US House of Representatives are held by the Democrats,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

Mr Smith said these voters were “wealthy enough to indulge” in the climate alarmism which the left candidates like to campaign on.
