Belfast-based grief management start-up Send-Off is beefing up its advisory team as it ramps up for launch, appointing a series of experienced advisers that include former executives from Just Eat and Meta.
Former Techstars managing director and current general partner at Estonia-based venture capital fund Tera Ventures, Eamonn Carey is joining the team, along with former Just Eat chief executive and venture capitalist David Buttress, and Meta’s one-time legal counsel and current StubHub executive Bari Williams.
Zapp’s vice president of strategy, Steve O’Hear, and chief technology officer of proptech start-up GoodLord, Justice Williams, round out the remainder of the new team.
Cofounded by entrepreneur Henry Joseph-Grant, Send-Off is still in stealth mode, with little detail made public about its purpose. Mr Joseph-Grant recently alluded to the company in a post on Twitter, saying the loss of his son had inspired him to “fix the end-of-life industry”. He also said the company was ramping up for a potential launch in the second quarter.
Mr Joseph-Grant is an entrepreneur and was part of the team that built Just Eat from start-up to its IPO. He has also advised other tech start-ups, including Estonian start-up Gigimot, which he invested in last year. He also co-founded start-up Alpha Exploration Co.
