Labor has stepped up its attack over national security – announcing a new plan to combat China's growing influence in the Pacific.

On Tuesday, shadow Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong unveiled Labor’s pledge of $525 million in development aid for the Pacific over the next four years, on top of new training for the region’s defence and security forces.
