Morrison ‘chest beating and talking tough’ on Solomon Islands China pact

about 2 years in news

Shadow Home Affairs Minister Kristina Keneally says Prime Minister Scott Morrison “ignored the warnings” and acted "too little too late" on the Solomon Islands-China security pact issue.

“Now we have China on our doorsteps … with a foothold in the Pacific, and Scott Morrison is now trying to clean up his mess,” Ms Keneally told Sky News Australia.

“I think what we’re seeing here is a Prime Minister chest beating and talking tough; it’s empty rhetoric coming from a government that has so mishandled these crucial relationships in our Pacific family.”
