CO MAYO, Ireland - Charlie Bird, a retired RTE broadcaster, has said that the response to his charity mountain climb has blown him away and that he expects it to raise more than €2 million. After being diagnosed with motor neuron disease last year, the former RTE chief news correspondent set himself the goal of hiking to the top of Croagh Patrick in Co Mayo.
