Sir, – With regard to Kathrine Switzer, Brian Kennedy (Letters, March 26th) is incorrect to believe she was shoved out of the Boston marathon by “men”. It was, in fact, a single man, Jock Semple, who attempted to do so. Two other men, her trainer and her then boyfriend, came to her assistance.
Semple and Switzer later made peace and went on to become good friends, a common occurrence among grown-ups. – Yours, etc,
