Pro climate Independent candidates battle for ACT Senate

about 2 years in news

Liberal Senator Zed Seselja is facing a challenge as two-high profile independent candidates race towards securing a Senate position.

Former Wallabies captain David Pocock said he wouldn’t be entering politics unless he thought he had a chance.

Meanwhile, constitutional law expert Professor Kim Rubenstein said her skillset is important on a crossbench.

Both Independent candidates have received seed funding from Climate 200 and share a pro-climate policy platform.

However, Mr Seselja believes it is a more likely risk an Australian Greens candidate could obtain a Senate seat.
