Lakes ultra seriously tests determination

The inaugural Southern Lakes Ultra - the only seven-day staged ultra race in Australasia - quietly got under way in the back blocks of Queenstown and Wanaka last month, as much of the country was preoccupied with Covid, the Ukraine and Wellington protesters. Otago Daily Times deputy editor Craig Page went along to see if he was up to the challenge.
