LONDON, UK - Pakistani British Lord Nazir Ahmed of Rotheram, a former Labour peer, was sentenced to five and a half years in jail by a UK court on Friday for assaulting two children in the 1970s. He was convicted last month of serious sexual assault on a boy and attempted rape on a young girl. Lord Ahmed was 16 or 17 at the time of the abuse at Rotheram, and his victims were much younger than him.
