German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Knesset Speaker Mickey Levy laid wreaths at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin to mark Holocaust Memorial Day on January 27. That morning, Scholz tweeted: “Anti-Semitism, hate speech and violence against people of the Jewish faith are increasing in Germany and in many other countries around the world. We must not allow this: we must fight anti-Semitism – everywhere and in all forms.” Levy also tweeted from Berlin, with the message: “never again.” He also thanked the German government and Austria for their “commitment” in the fight against anti-Semitism.
