Labor Senator Tony Sheldon says Australia Day should be a day to celebrate and “reflect on what happens in Australia”.

“How we operate as a community, and most importantly the First Nations peoples,” Mr Sheldon said.

“And that is to make sure we actually recognise both the injustice and the need for justice for Indigenous and First Nations people in this country.”
