over 2 years in news

South African anti-apartheid activist Archbishop Desmond Tutu has been laid to rest at a state funeral in Cape Town on January 1. Footage by Kaya FM reporter Nosipho Radebe shows the moment his coffin was brought out of St George’s Cathedral for transport to be cremated. In a eulogy, President Cyril Ramaphosa described Tutu as the “spiritual father of our new nation.” “The most fitting tribute we can pay to him, whoever and wherever we are, is to take up the cause of social justice for which he tirelessly campaigned,” he said. “Archbishop Tutu has left a formidable legacy and we are enormously diminished by his passing.” Credit: Nosipho Radebe/@KayaNews via Storyful
