Spiked’s Chief Political Writer Brendan O’Neill says six-year-old Arthur Labinjo-Hughes’ murder has “appalled” the United Kingdom.

Arthur Labinjo-Hughes was tortured and eventually killed by his father and step-mother during lockdown last year.

“This is a horrific case, the killing of Arthur has really appalled the entire nation, it’s really pulled people together in disgust and outrage,” Mr O’Neill said.

“There were lots of missed opportunities – he was visited by social workers, they saw a bruise on his back, but they didn’t take further action, his extended family … they tried to get the authorities to intervene but with no luck.”
