US President Joe Biden is determined to push ahead on his legislative agenda, despite concerns over the impact of the Omicron strain.
US Studies Centre CEO Simon Jackman says the Build Back Better infrastructure plan was something President Biden “promised his base” and there is pressure to pass it.
“Enormous pressure coming on Biden to deliver and deliver now,” he told Sky News Australia.
Mr Jackman said as the midterms approach the “fragility of the numbers” inside the Democratic caucus and House is showing.
“As hard as it’s been to get business done now, it just becomes closer, if possible, next year,” he said.
